The fuck is this church shit

I went to church this morning. I was there to celebrate my friends 90th birthday. Lewis would be reading a passage where (his interpretation) “god told man not to eat the food in the garden, if he did that would make him smarter than god and no one should be smarter than god but man went on to eat the food in the garden and the rest is history’. Lewis is agnostic but i think he enjoys the community and pageantry even if he too, thinks the content is often absurd.

I had never really been to a mass or whatever this configuration of nonsense was. The place is gorgeous. The stained glass and the wood, too bad it’s marred by all these symbols of forced conformation. I knew from a very small child that this was straight up bullshit and to this day I’m still baffled how the masses fall for this obvious cult. The ritual was no different than a play of fiction, with costumes and props as well. The words spoken.. repeated, ad nauseum.. worship your lord, serve only him. The berating of sin, as if human nature itself is wrong and if the almighty god can’t stop what he started then what kind of god are they? Useless. A bullshit artist. A controlling demon that steals your happiness, freedom and money in the name of religion. What child wants to sit and listen to this crock of shit. The confusion that must run through every child’s head who hears this completely implausible premise and questions it without satisfactory answers such as.. “it’s a fucking cult created by man to control humans” has to be damaging. When the ones in charge are leading you down a path of bullshit.. it can’t be healthy.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for people doing what ever the fuck they want. Religion, like sex should be A) only practiced by adults, 2) kept behind closed doors like masturbation and X) never, ever, ever, ever, forced upon a society when it comes to policy. Which god’s arbitrary rules? Your god? Their god? What if your god and their god differ completely? Should we, as a society, be party to you two dumb asses fighting it out? Fuck off with that shit.

The singing was nice.. if it wasn’t full of praise and god and jesus and amen’s. The people were so nice. The moment I walked in the door I was first greeted by one woman. “Hi. You’re new. Welcome. Here’s the program for the morning. This is all you need.” Then the next person welcomed me. And another. Then another. People in the seats got up to welcome me. Ask about me. It was nice and creepy. I’m sorry but there was a level of noseiness that just crept up my ass. Too nice, too sweet, just too too. At one point in the morning the entire congregation gets up and greets everyone else. Shakes hands and says May peace be with you. Every. One. Robotically. Stepford wife like. ok.

Then it was communion time. Yes, the cannibalistic portion of the morning. But just a nibble. Don’t want to fill up on christ. nom

I will never understand the weakness of humans that allows them to give weight to this blatant absurdity. Even if there was a speck of truth, that some entity in the sky, in this universe of billions of stars gave one flying fuck about this dot of humanity, it would look nothing like what magic bullshit we created. Pray, worship, faith, those words send chills of terror down my spine as they all lead to one eventual road. The road of control, hate, judgement, murder, molestation, and terror for an insanely large number of humans. While there are always good humans, it’s like the pigs. If the good ones exist and allow the bad ones to flourish, then are there really any good ones?
